The S.L.P: Projeto solo de Sergio Pizzorno; ouça a nova música ‘Favourites’

No dia 13 de maio, site e redes sociais intituladas The S.L.P. foram divulgadas através das redes oficiais do Kasabian. A novidade se tratava do recém projeto solo de Sergio Pizzorno, que o nomeou com as iniciais do próprio nome. Um teaser de 30 segundos e uma imagem do rosto do guitarrista indicavam o lançamento de uma música: Favourites – com estreia marcada para o dia seguinte (14), nas rádios britânicas BBC e Radio X. O single Favourites conta com a participação da rapper inglesa Little Simz, que segundo Sergio, a colaboração surgiu através de um amigo comum entre os dois, mas que ele sempre quis trabalhar com a cantora.

Nas entrevistas realizadas no dia da estreia da track, Sergio deixou claro que o novo projeto é experimental, uma exploração de estilos e mundos que agora ele pode visitar e continuar trabalhando enquanto o Kasabian está em uma pausa de um ano até o próximo álbum – a turnê do último álbum da banda, For Crying Out Loud, terminou em setembro de 2018. Pizzorno também disse que “tem muito mais, há mais por vir” quando questionado se haverá mais músicas para o The S.L.P..

“Favourites é sobre identidade na era digital. Vivemos em uma época em que a maioria das pessoas finge ser outra pessoa por meio de sua persona online e de alguma forma essa identidade falsa nos afasta mais de quem realmente somos. Eu estava interessado em como o namoro online é uma espécie de reflexo dessa crise de identidade. Através da velocidade e estrutura da música eu quis capturar a sensação do verdadeiro você dentro da sua cabeça, tentando sair e escapar durante um primeiro encontro. É um diálogo entre duas pessoas que estão chegando a um acordo com o seu verdadeiro eu, através da interação digital se tornando física.”
